An ad on Twitch appears to have confirmed the new date for Sony’s PS5 event, and it’s taking place this Thursday.

Last week was set to be the moment we’d get a first look at some of the games Sony has planned for the PlayStation 5.

However, the event was delayed shortly afterwards as a result of the Black Lives Matter protests, in an attempt at showing solidarity and not distracting from the more important message of the protests.

This led to rampant speculation about when it would take place instead, and it looks like we now know courtesy of a Twitch ad.

Spotted by Nibel on Twitter, an already reputable source of information, the ad confirms that the event will be held this Thursday on 11 June, only a week after it was originally planned.

The time hasn’t changed, though, with it still beginning at 9pm BST / 1pm PT / 4pm EDT.

Clearly the time and date may be subject to further change though, depending on events in the wider world.

Since the initial announcement, rumours have begun to circulate about what we may see at the event, with the most popular being that Bloodborne will see a release on both PlayStation 5 and PC.

Another is that the long-rumoured Resident Evil 8, as well as a PlayStation 5 Silent Hill game, will be revealed as well.

The PlayStation 5 is scheduled to launch in time for Christmas this year.
